Mar 11, 2020 · For nickel, the precipitation as nickel carbonate can be an alternative to a solvent extraction process. The nickel in the leaching liquor is precipitated as basic nickel carbonate. The precipitation is conducted at elevated temperatures above 80 °C and a pH above 7 by adding sodium carbonate to the solution as shown in Eq. 12. 18
